Financial Literacy Resources

Following a Senate hearing on the importance of Financial Literacy Education for students, Florida adopted standards for Financial Literacy, aligned with the National Financial Literacy Standards. The Financial Literacy standards have been infused into the High School Economics With Financial Literacy courses in Florida as illustrated on CPalms. The Stavros Center has created a website of resources for educators to use to teach the standards. Below you will find the six main Financial Literacy Standards, with links to the associated benchmarks and resources.

Financial Literacy Standards:

Earning Income
Buying Goods and Services
Using Credit
Saving
Financial Investing
Protecting and Insuring

The Florida Council on Economic Education in partnership with the Gus A. Stavros Center for Free Enterprise and Economic Education has updated the Free Resource Financial Freedom to match the new Financial Literacy standards and activities. On each associated page, you will find references on how to use chapters in Financial Freedom to meet your standards
